Royal Caribbean Launches the First ever surf park
In a first of its kind, the Royal caribbean International cruise liner has introduced an on-board surf-park, called the Flow Rider, abroad the ‘Freedom of the seas’ , it is scheduled to debut in May 2006. The surf park comes with number of facilities, including rock climbing walls ice stacking tracks. The 32ft * 40ft ride. Flow ride generates a thin sheet of waterthat flow over ride surface., creating a wave like shape. Similiar to swimming against a current in a stationary lap pool, riders can surf or body board against a current the waterflow of 30,000 gallons per minute, carving turns and trying tricks. Some other new facilities include flat screen TV’s with live feed of the surf park and a sports boutique selling surfinh gear.
