Plasma Technology
The process of image creation in Plasma screens is a complex bit of science. There are two glass plates that contains inert xenon and neon gases sandwiched between two layers of long electrodes. One layer of electrodes sit on the rear glass plate and the other forms the transparent screen at the front. The ones in the front are covered with magnesium oxide. These electrodes are charged by passing electricity. The charging causes the gas to ionize and form plasma. In color panels there are cells coated with phospor, which when charged produce pixels of different colors. This forms the image. This technology is somewhat similar to the one in color CRTs. At present all leading brands manufacturing these type of plasma technology television. The price range of this type of technology is from 3,00,000 – 10,000 rupees.
